Larry | John | Jack I David

Larry Kleinfeld was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida and began playing clarinet in 6th grade. After attending law school and practicing law for several years, in the late 1960's
he fulfilled a fantasy by going to Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts as a piano student to learn about his lifetime passion - jazz. After several semesters as a student he joined the faculty and taught at Berklee until 1977. He then came home to St. Petersburg to practice law until the early 1990's, when he retired to raise his daughter, pursue his music (and hers) and otherwise follow his heart. "Licorice Schtick" represents a joyuous rejuvenation of his interest in playing clarinet, writing and arranging jazz music, and the wonder of collaborating with kindred spirits in the pursuit of beauty.

John Creveling was born and raised in Norman, Oklahoma and started playing clarinet in the 7th grade. His life revolved around music through his first two years as a music education major at the University of Oklahoma. Then other interests took the lead and he packed up his clarinet and joined the Air Force. After 20 years as an Air Force pilot he returned to civilian life, first in the field of computer software development, and currently, as a Certified Financial Planner. John credits his re-entry in to the music field to his son, Cameron, who began playing violin at age 4, and at age 15 is a fine young trumpet player. One of John's greatest joys is playing clarinet/trumpet duets with his son. John met Larry through their children's musical activities. One thing led to another and John joined Larry and Pete in "Licorice Schtick."
